Learning Collections/University Collection

Learning Collections, For Universities and Colleges

University Collection

Three student workbooks, three educator and facilitator guides, and an adaptable institutional learning pathway, written for university and college students and the educators who teach them.

Students move from understanding a claim to deciding what evidence would justify acting on it.

Three workbooks, three guides and one pathway

The three topics are AI ethics and digital identity, neuroprivacy, and work, identity and careers. Every workbook has a matching guide for the tutors, lecturers and facilitators who lead it, and the pathway helps programme and department leads decide how it all fits together.

Three workbooks, one for each topic

Students work through each workbook with a tutor or seminar leader. The activities move from understanding a claim to analysing a case and defending a recommendation.

AI Ethics and Digital Identity

How AI systems shape authorship, identity and trust in academic and professional life.

Students explore

  • Authorship, disclosure and integrity when AI is part of the workflow
  • Verification, and the limits of AI-generated evidence
  • Digital identity, data trails and institutional records

Neuroprivacy

How cognitive and emotional inference works, and how it should be governed.

Students explore

  • A working vocabulary for evidence: validation, error rates and thresholds
  • Consent when a person depends on the institution asking for it
  • A capstone applied to a campus pilot

Work, Identity and Careers

How AI is reshaping graduate work, and how students take a considered position within it.

Students explore

  • How AI is changing entry-level work, professions and hiring
  • Professional identity, values and the choices behind a career path
  • Building a defensible position on their own use of AI at work

A recommendation, and what would change it.

Applied analysis is where the University Collection puts its weight. Students are asked to commit to a position and to be exact about its limits.

A reasoned recommendation

A clear position on a realistic case, argued from the evidence.

The conditions that would change it

What new information or circumstance would reverse the decision.

The evidence required

What would need to be shown before they would trust the claim.

A guide for every workbook

Each workbook has its own guide, written so that tutors and seminar leaders can run the discussion, mark applied work and keep the standard of evidence high.

AI Ethics and Digital Identity

Run seminars on authorship and disclosure that address integrity honestly, and agree what is acceptable in your own department.

Neuroprivacy

Facilitate applied cases, including how power and consent work when the institution is the decision-maker.

Work, Identity and Careers

Connect career and employability conversations to placements, professional practice and what students do next.

Every guide includes

  • Facilitation notes for each activity
  • Discussion prompts and suggested questions
  • Marking guidance for applied analysis
  • Notes for adapting the material to your programme and setting

From individual sessions to a whole-institution approach

Beyond the classroom materials, the collection includes an adaptable pathway for the institution: where the collection sits, who leads it, how staff prepare and how it develops over time.

Where it fits

Placing the collection within induction, a tutorial series, a module, an ethics or employability programme, or a capstone.

Who leads it

Roles for programme and department leads, academic developers, careers and student support teams, and the tutors facilitating in seminars.

How to adapt it

Adjusting sequence, pace and depth to your timetable, cohort and context. The pathway is adaptable, not prescriptive.
